1st Line IT Support Engineer | Job in West Yorkshire

Provide user support across various IT platforms, applications, and devices (e.g., desktops, laptops, mobile devices). Offer guidance on best practices for using these tools effectively.

  • *Hardware & Software Maintenance:

Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrades of hardware and software as needed. Ensure systems are up-to-date with security patches and latest versions to maintain optimal performance.

  • *Documentation:

Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, problems, and resolutions for future reference. Contribute to departmental knowledgebase and ensure it is current and accessible to relevant personnel.

  • *Service Improvement:

Participate in regular reviews of our IT support processes to identify areas for improvement and suggest innovative solutions to enhance service quality and efficiency.

  • *Collaboration:

Work closely with other members of the IT department, as well as cross-functional teams, to deliver exceptional IT services that meet the evolving needs of our organisation.

  • Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and virtualization solutions (VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.

Problem-Solving Abilities:

  • Analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve IT issues efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within the team
