*Role Overview: *

As an Assistant Designer, you will be responsible for supporting our design team in the creation of high-quality, trend-forward MW shirts and swimwear collections. This role requires a strong understanding of fashion trends, attention to detail, and a passion for design that translates into practical, marketable garments.

*Key Responsibilities: *

• Assist in the development of seasonal design concepts for MW shirts and swimwear lines.
• Collaborate with the design team on sketching, pattern making, and technical design.
• Research current fashion trends to ensure our designs are fresh, innovative, and competitive within the market.
• Assist in the coordination of fabric selection, sourcing, and sample production.
• Participate in fittings, providing feedback on fit, construction, and overall quality.
• Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure designs align with sales targets and customer preferences.
• Keep accurate records and maintain organization of design files, sketches, and samples.

*Qualifications: *

• A bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field is required.
• Proven experience as an Assistant Designer or similar role within the fashion industry with a focus on MW shirts and swimwear.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction techniques, fabric types, and production methods.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and external partners.
• Proficiency in design software (Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop) is essential.
• A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of current fashion trends.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
• Passionate about the fashion industry and committed to staying informed about the latest design trends and techniques.
• Willingness to travel for research, market visits, and fashion events as required.

*Role Responsibilities: *

• Assist in the design process, from concept development to final product, for our MW shirt and swimwear lines.
• Collaborate closely with our Senior Designers and merchandising team to ensure designs are aligned with current trends, brand identity, and customer preferences.
• Conduct thorough research on fashion trends, fabric innovation, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions.
• Develop and maintain technical packs for all designs, ensuring they meet production requirements.
• Work closely with our development team to ensure designs are technically feasible and adhere to quality standards.
• Assist in the sourcing of new fabrics, trims, and other materials to enhance the design process.
• Participate in fabric fairs, trade shows, and market research trips as required.
• Contribute to the development of seasonal colour palettes and trend direction for MW shirts and swimwear lines.
• Assist in the creation of marketing material, including lookbooks and social media content, to showcase designs.
• Collaborate with our digital team on the development of e-commerce product images and videos.

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Assistant Designer or Junior Designer in the fashion industry, preferably within MW shirts or swimwear.
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and fabric properties.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design.
• Passionate about fashion trends and able to interpret them into practical designs.
• A team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
