Daily Activities

In the dynamic and challenging role of an Audit & Accounts Senior within our team, your day-to-day tasks will be a blend of technical accountancy expertise, client management, and team leadership. Here's a snapshot of what you can expect: Client Management:

  • Liaising with clients to obtain all necessary information for the completion of audits and accounts. This may involve telephone calls, emails, or face-to-face meetings.
  • Preparing audit and account plans and ensuring that these are followed throughout the assignment.
  • Reviewing financial statements and related disclosures prepared by junior members to ensure they meet high standards of accuracy and presentation.

Audit Execution:

  • Planning, executing, and completing audits on time in accordance with professional standards and client requirements.
  • Identifying significant issues during the course of an audit and determining the appropriate response. This may involve adjusting financial statements, recommending improvements to internal controls, or discussing matters with clients.

Accounts Preparation:

  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies under UK GAAP (or FRS 102) and corporate tax computations.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

Training & Development:

  • Assisting in the coaching and development of less experienced team members, providing feedback on their work and helping them to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Staying updated with changes in audit and accounting practices through continuous professional development (CPD).

Ad-hoc Tasks:

  • Participating in ad-hoc projects as required, such as due diligence for mergers and acquisitions or advice on corporate restructuring.
  • Contribute to the development of the department and the firm by providing suggestions on improving work processes and service offerings.
