  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the commercial landscape, particularly within Yorkshire and The Humber.
  • A strategic thinker with a strong business acumen.
  • Results-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • : Identifying potential legal risks in commercial decisions and providing pragmatic advice to minimise these risks.
  • *Legal Research and Analysis
  • : Conducting thorough research and analysis on various legal issues affecting the organisation, keeping abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations.
  • *Stakeholder Engagement
  • : Building strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, business unit leaders, and external counsel where necessary.
  • *Training and Mentoring
  • : Assisting in the training and development of junior team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to build a strong legal function within the organisation.
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience in Commercial Law.
  • Strong academic background with a degree from a reputable university.
  • Proven track record of providing high-quality legal advice on complex commercial matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of the commercial landscape in Yorkshire and the Humber.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies such as the Law Society or Bar Council.
