*Required Qualifications: *

  • Proven experience in a similar data centre security role.
  • Excellent knowledge of physical and digital security measures, including CCTV systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and fire suppression systems.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex security concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Key Responsibilities

In this critical role within our team, the Data Centre Security Officer is expected to maintain a secure and efficient environment for our data centre operations. The following outlines the key responsibilities of this position:

*Physical Security: *

Ensure the physical security of the data centre by implementing and maintaining appropriate measures such as access controls, CCTV surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and physical barriers. Regularly inspect and test these systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.

  • *Security Policy Compliance:

Develop, implement, and enforce security policies and procedures within the data centre. This includes user access control, incident response plans, and disaster recovery procedures.

  • *Risk Management:

Identify potential risks to the data centre's security and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. Regularly review and update risk assessments in light of new threats or changes in the operating environment.

  • *Incident Response:

Respond effectively to any security incidents that may occur within the data centre. This includes investigating incidents, determining their cause, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • *Collaboration:

Collaborate with other teams within the organisation, as well as external partners, to ensure the security of the data centre aligns with the broader security strategy of the organisation.

  • *Training and Awareness:

Provide training and awareness programs for staff members regarding data centre security policies and procedures. Ensure all staff are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a secure environment.

In this critical role as a Data Centre Security Officer within our organisation, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our data centres, protecting our assets, and maintaining a secure environment for our clients' sensitive data. *Security Expertise

  • : A strong understanding of physical security measures, including CCTV systems, access control, intrusion detection, and alarms is required. Experience with security protocols such as ISMS (Information Security Management System), SOC 2, or ISO 27001 is a plus.
  • *Risk Assessment & Management
  • : Ability to perform thorough risk assessments, identify potential vulnerabilities, and develop effective strategies to mitigate those risks. This includes understanding the principles of threat modeling and implementing countermeasures accordingly.
  • *Emergency Response & Crisis Management
  • : Familiarity with emergency response procedures and crisis management plans is crucial. You should be able to respond effectively in high-stress situations, making quick decisions and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of our team and the data centres.
  • *Technical Proficiency
  • : Adeptness with various security technologies, such as firewalls, encryption methods, and VPNs, is essential. Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, etc.) and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) will be beneficial.

  • : Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for liaising with team members, clients, and external security agencies. You should be able to explain complex security concepts in a clear and concise manner.
