Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Electronic PCB Layout Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team based in the East of England. As an integral part of our electronics development group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for a range of electronic products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and document PCB layouts in compliance with project requirements, company standards, and industry regulations.
  • Utilize advanced CAD tools such as Altium Designer, Cadsoft Eagle, or similar software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and signal integrity analysis.
  • Ensure proper board routing, component placement, and thermal management to minimize manufacturing costs and enhance product reliability.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to address design-for-manufacturing (DFM) issues and implement improvements in PCB designs as needed.
  • Participate in prototyping, testing, and validation phases to ensure the functionality, performance, and quality of electronic products.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in PCB design and layout.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a strong emphasis on electronics, circuit design, and PCB layout. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-speed digital, mixed signal, RF, or power system design as a PCB Layout Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in using CAD tools for schematic capture, PCB layout, and signal integrity analysis (Altium Designer, Cadsoft Eagle, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles and ability to apply these concepts to optimize board layouts for cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
