  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. Advanced degrees (MSc or MPH) are highly desirable.
  • Proven experience as an HSE Manager with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in health and safety management systems (e.g., OHSAS 18001, ISO 45001).
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations, particularly those relevant to the West Midlands region.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to adhere to HSE standards.

Primary Duties

In this critical role within our organisation, the HSE Manager will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all employees in line with current health, safety, and environmental regulations. The key responsibilities include:

*Risk Assessment and Management: *

Conduct regular risk assessments across all departments to identify potential hazards, implement necessary controls, and ensure ongoing monitoring and review.

Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire evacuation procedures, first aid training for staff, and coordination with local emergency services as necessary.

  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent as a minimum, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of H.S.E legislation and best practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
