In this critical role within our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained across all of our operations in the East of England region. Your primary objectives will include:
*Risk Assessment and Management: *
Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement necessary controls to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- *Policy Development and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and oversee the adherence to comprehensive health and safety policies in line with relevant legislation. This includes liaising with key stakeholders, conducting regular audits, and addressing any non-compliance issues promptly.
- *Training and Education:
Provide training and guidance on health and safety procedures to employees at all levels within the organisation. This may involve designing and delivering tailored training programs, as well as keeping up-to-date with changes in health and safety regulations and best practices.
- *Incident Management:
Manage incidents effectively when they occur, investigating the cause, taking corrective action, and ensuring appropriate follow-up to prevent recurrence. This includes liaising with relevant authorities where necessary.
- *Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments within the organisation, as well as external partners, to ensure a collaborative approach to health and safety. This may involve representing the organisation at industry events or forums, and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health, safety, and welfare regulations, and will work collaboratively with various departments within our organization to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular risk assessments across all departments and sites, identifying potential hazards and implementing appropriate control measures.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support on health and safety matters to employees at all levels of the organization.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs in line with industry best practices and legal requirements.
- Liaise with external bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and other regulatory bodies when necessary.
- Monitor and report on health and safety performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, determining causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with management to ensure that health and safety is integrated into all business activities and decisions.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and best practices, ensuring the organization remains compliant and continues to promote a culture of safety. Qualifications:
- Relevant degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Proven experience as a Health and Safety Consultant or similar role.
- NEBOSH General Certificate, NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or equivalent qualification.
- Membership of a recognized professional body such as the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) or the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in health and safety software for incident reporting, risk assessments, and policy management.

As a Health and Safety Consultant within our team, you will be expected to possess the following skills and qualifications:
*Professional Qualification
- : A recognized NEBOSH, NCRQ, or equivalent professional diploma in Occupational Health and Safety is essential. Advanced qualifications such as a Master's degree in Health, Safety, and Environment are highly desirable.
- *Experience
- : Minimum of 5 years of experience working within the Health and Safety field, preferably in a consultancy role. Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and implementing safety policies is required.
- *Knowledge
- : An in-depth understanding of current health and safety legislation, including the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002.
- *Communication Skills

- *IT Proficiency
- : Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required. Knowledge of health and safety specific software such as RiskWare or similar tools would be an advantage.
- *Ability to Travel
- : As a Health and Safety Consultant, you will be expected to travel within the East of England region and occasionally nationwide to visit clients. A valid UK driving license is therefore required.
