  • A relevant degree in Recreation Therapy, Gerontology, Social Work, or a similar field, with a proven track record of success in activities coordination for seniors.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capacity to build rapport with residents, staff members, and external service providers.

Role Duties

  • Design and implement a comprehensive activities calendar for residents, ensuring a variety of physical, mental, social, and recreational activities to cater to diverse interests and abilities.

  • Organize and lead group activities, such as exercise classes, arts and crafts workshops, games, outings, and educational programs, fostering an engaging and stimulating environment for residents.

  • Plan and coordinate special events, including parties, cultural celebrations, and themed days, to create a sense of community and celebration within the facility.

  • Collaborate with other staff members, including healthcare professionals, to ensure activities are appropriate and safe for each resident's physical and cognitive abilities.

  • Provide one-on-one activities or companionship to residents who require additional support or supervision.

  • Maintain accurate records of activities and events, tracking attendance, feedback, and any issues that may arise during the activities.

  • Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and regulations in senior care activities to ensure the highest quality of service for residents.

  • Actively engage with residents' families and friends, encouraging their participation in activities and events.

  • Recruit, train, and supervise activity staff as needed, ensuring they have the skills and resources necessary to provide excellent care.

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for all activities, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to showcase the vibrant activities program to potential residents and their families.
