Authorised Person | Job in East Sussex

• Act as the primary point of contact for all statutory and regulatory compliance matters, liaising with relevant authorities as necessary.

• Ensure that all operations comply with local, regional, and national regulations, standards, and legislation related to health, safety, and environmental protection.

• Develop, implement, and maintain safety management systems, policies, and procedures.

• Conduct regular risk assessments and identify areas for improvement in our operations, proposing and implementing solutions accordingly.

• Coordinate with various departments to ensure the correct implementation of safety measures and procedures across all levels of the organization.

• Ensure the timely submission of required reports, inspections, and records to relevant authorities.

• Provide training and education to staff on safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and emergency response plans.

• Participate in incident investigations, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

• Stay updated with changes in laws, regulations, and best practices related to health, safety, and environmental protection, and implement these updates within the organization.

• Proven experience as an Authorized Person or similar role in a regulated industry (preferably within South East).

• In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to the region.

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team and collaborate effectively across departments.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.

• A proactive approach to risk management and incident prevention.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing regulations and best practices in health, safety, and environmental protection.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.) are a plus.
