Bank Support Worker | Job in Tyne And Wear
In this role as a Bank Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our team, providing essential support to our residents and colleagues during periods of staff absence or peak demand. Your primary duties will include:
Caring for Residents: You will deliver high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a compassionate and respectful manner. This includes assisting with personal care tasks such as dressing, bathing, and feeding.
Medication Administration: You will be responsible for the safe administration of prescribed medication according to our policies and procedures, under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Health Monitoring: Regular monitoring of residents' health conditions, reporting any changes to the appropriate healthcare professionals, and ensuring that care plans are kept up-to-date.
Communication: Effective communication with residents, their families, and colleagues is crucial. This includes maintaining accurate records and reports, and liaising with other healthcare professionals as required.
Supporting Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Assistance with ADLs such as mobility, transfers, and continence care. You will also support residents in their chosen activities to promote their independence and wellbeing.
Creating a Homely Environment: You will contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and homely environment for our residents by maintaining the physical environment, participating in social activities, and engaging in meaningful conversations with residents.
Adherence to Policies and Procedures: Compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations is essential. This includes infection control measures, health and safety guidelines, and data protection requirements.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD): Commitment to your ongoing professional development through attending training sessions, keeping up-to-date with industry news, and participating in team meetings.
Contribution to Team Work: Collaborate effectively with your colleagues, demonstrating a positive attitude and flexible approach to work. This includes covering shifts as needed and providing support to other teams during busy periods or staff absences.
