Built Heritage Consultant | Job in Leicestershire
As a Built Heritage Consultant in the East Midlands, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve preserving, protecting, and enhancing our region's historic buildings and landscapes. Here's an overview of what you can expect on a typical workday:
Client Engagement: You will work closely with clients, including property developers, local authorities, and building owners, to understand their needs related to heritage conservation. This may involve site visits, discussions, or meetings to assess the historic significance of buildings and determine appropriate measures for preservation or restoration.
Heritage Assessments: You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive heritage assessments, using specialized knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and architectural styles to evaluate the historical and cultural importance of structures. This may include preparing detailed reports outlining your findings and recommendations.
Regulatory Compliance: Familiarize yourself with local and national planning policies, conservation area guidelines, and listed building regulations to ensure all projects comply with relevant legislation. Provide advice on obtaining necessary permissions and meeting regulatory requirements.
Project Management: Oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of various heritage restoration and renovation projects. This may involve liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure project success.
