Day-to-Day Tasks

As a Care Assistant in Wales, your primary role is to ensure the wellbeing and comfort of our service users. Here's an overview of the day-to-day tasks you will be responsible for:

• Assist service users with their daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.

• Provide support with eating and drinking, including meal preparation if required.

• Administer medication in accordance with the care plan, ensuring all medication is stored correctly.

• Help with continence care when necessary.

• Engage service users in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. This may include outings, games, crafts, or reminiscence therapy.

• Encourage and support service users to maintain relationships with family members and friends.

• Facilitate communication between service users and healthcare professionals as necessary.

• Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment, including the user's room and communal areas.

• Assist with laundry and ironing tasks.

• Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to ensure they are addressed.

• Record observations, changes in condition, and incidents in the service user's care plan.
