Day-to-Day Tasks
As a Care Assistant in Wales, your primary role is to ensure the wellbeing and comfort of our service users. Here's an overview of the day-to-day tasks you will be responsible for:
Assist service users with their daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
Provide support with eating and drinking, including meal preparation if required.
Administer medication in accordance with the care plan, ensuring all medication is stored correctly.
Help with continence care when necessary.
Engage service users in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing. This may include outings, games, crafts, or reminiscence therapy.
Encourage and support service users to maintain relationships with family members and friends.
Facilitate communication between service users and healthcare professionals as necessary.
Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care environment, including the user's room and communal areas.
Assist with laundry and ironing tasks.
Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to ensure they are addressed.
Record observations, changes in condition, and incidents in the service user's care plan.
Contribute to regular care reviews to ensure that the care provided remains tailored to the individual needs of each service user.
Maintain confidentiality at all times regarding service users' personal information and care plans.
