Chef de Partie | Job in Wandsworth

In this dynamic and fast-paced role as a Chef de Partie within the heart of London's vibrant culinary scene, you will be expected to maintain exceptional standards while performing the following routine tasks:

  • Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook dishes under the supervision of Senior Chefs according to the established recipes and presentation guidelines. Ensure food quality, taste, and consistency.

  • Stock Management: Maintain accurate records of kitchen inventory levels for perishable goods such as fresh produce, meat, fish, dairy products, and dry stores items. Order supplies as needed in accordance with kitchen requirements.

  • Kitchen Cleanliness and Safety: Enforce strict hygiene standards at all times, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Keep work areas clean, tidy, and sanitized during service periods and between services. Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to kitchen safety procedures and reporting any potential hazards.

  • Team Communication: Collaborate effectively with the kitchen team, including Sous Chefs, Commis Chefs, and CDPs, ensuring smooth coordination during busy service periods. Provide guidance to junior team members as required.

  • Menu Development: Contribute ideas for new dishes and menu modifications in collaboration with Senior Chefs, taking inspiration from seasonal produce, current culinary trends, and customer feedback.

  • Planning and Organization: Plan daily kitchen operations, including production schedules, mise en place, and equipment requirements. Organize the station efficiently during service periods to minimize delays and ensure smooth food flow.

  • Quality Assurance: Taste dishes throughout the day to ensure they meet quality standards. Address any issues promptly with your team to maintain consistently high-quality food.

  • Training and Development: Participate in training programs to expand your culinary skills and knowledge. Support the development of junior team members by providing constructive feedback and guidance.

  • Customer Service: Maintain a positive attitude at all times, ensuring exceptional guest service. Address any customer complaints or questions professionally and promptly, aiming to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Continuous Improvement: Regularly review your own performance and that of your team members. Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance the overall kitchen operation. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices by attending workshops, seminars, and networking events as required.
