In this pivotal role as the Curriculum Development Manager for our education institution based in the West Midlands, you will be responsible for leading, designing, and implementing high-quality curriculum plans that effectively support student learning and achievement. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • *Curriculum Design:
  • Develop, implement, and continually update comprehensive curricula that align with national educational standards and our institution's mission and values. Ensure the curricula are engaging, challenging, and adaptable to various learning styles and abilities.
  • *Instructional Material Development:
  • Create and manage a library of instructional materials such as lesson plans, assignments, quizzes, and other resources that support effective teaching and learning. Collaborate with teachers, educational psychologists, and subject matter experts to produce high-quality materials that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • *Professional Development:
  • Provide ongoing training and support for faculty members to enhance their knowledge, skills, and abilities in curriculum design, instructional strategies, and technology integration. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration among teaching staff.
  • *Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and progress. Analyze assessment data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement, and use this information to refine the curriculum and instructional strategies.
  • *Collaboration and Communication:

  • *Compliance and Regulation:

Required Skills

  • Extensive Experience: Minimum of 7 years' experience in curriculum development and educational leadership, preferably within the West Midlands region or comparable education system.

  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, or a related field is required. A Doctorate (PhD) in Education or a related field is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Curriculum Design Expertise: Proven ability to design, develop, and implement comprehensive curricula that align with national and regional educational standards.

  • Strategic Thinking: Demonstrate the capacity to strategically plan and execute curriculum initiatives that support the organization's mission and vision.

  • Knowledge of Educational Trends: Keep abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and research in education and curriculum development.

  • Instructional Technology Skills: Proficiency in various instructional technologies and Learning Management Systems (LMS) to enhance learning experiences and facilitate effective curriculum delivery.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, and other stakeholders across multiple departments. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

  • Leadership and Management: Proven leadership abilities to manage a team of curriculum developers, oversee project timelines, allocate resources, and ensure quality control.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Experience in developing, implementing, and analyzing assessment strategies to measure student learning and curriculum effectiveness.

  • Problem-Solving and Decision Making: Ability to analyze complex problems, develop effective solutions, and make informed decisions that support the organization's goals.

  • Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to changes in educational requirements, student needs, and technological advancements.
