Field Application Engineering Manager- EMEA | Job in South Yorkshire

The Field Application Engineering Manager for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region plays a pivotal role in driving our company's success. *Key Responsibilities: *

  • Develop and execute regional training programs for Application Engineers, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support our products effectively.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Advanced degrees and relevant industry certifications are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience as an Application Engineer or a similar role within the technology industry, ideally in a multinational setting.

  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving results.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with customers.

  • Proficiency in relevant software and hardware technologies, with a deep understanding of their applications and potential for innovation.

  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional EMEA languages is highly desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are preferred but not required.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, product management, or a similar role within the electronics industry.

  • Proven leadership and management abilities, with at least 5 years of experience managing teams in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Strong knowledge of EMEA market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape in the field of electronics.

  • Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in various software tools for design and analysis (e.g., Matlab, SolidWorks, LabVIEW).

  • Ability to travel extensively within the EMEA region as needed.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to various audiences.

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional regional languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish) is a plus.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product development, sales, marketing, and customer service.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with key customers and partners.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from inception to completion, with a focus on meeting or exceeding project objectives.

  • Understanding of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., CE marking, RoHS, REACH) for the region.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to relocate to Yorkshire and The Humber, UK if not already residing in the region.

Daily Activities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop technical strategies that align with the company's business objectives and market trends in the EMEA region.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to field application engineers, ensuring they are technically competent and able to effectively support customers.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of training programs for field application engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.

  • Stay abreast of technological advancements in the industry and identify opportunities for product improvement or expansion.

  • Work closely with product management and R&D teams to translate customer feedback into actionable improvements in product design and functionality.

  • Serve as a technical liaison between the company and key customers, building strong relationships and understanding their unique needs and challenges.

  • Lead the development of customer-specific solutions, collaborating with internal teams to ensure effective execution.

  • Participate in customer visits, meetings, and presentations to demonstrate product capabilities and provide technical support.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the market, competitors, and industry trends to inform strategic decision-making and customer engagement.

  • Act as a subject matter expert during customer interactions, providing accurate and relevant information about the company's products and services.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to provide technical support during the sales process, ensuring that customers receive accurate and up-to-date information about the company's products and services.

  • Participate in sales calls and meetings as needed, providing technical expertise and guidance to the sales team.

  • Assist in the development of sales proposals, product demonstrations, and other supporting materials.

  • Contribute to the preparation of sales presentations, case studies, and other marketing collateral that effectively communicate the company's value proposition.

  • Support the sales teams in closing complex deals by providing technical expertise and addressing customer concerns or objections.

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet customer requirements.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies to effectively execute project tasks.

  • Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks or issues early and developing contingency plans as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate resources and ensure smooth project execution.

  • Communicate project statuses, milestones, and achievements to stakeholders regularly, using appropriate reporting mechanisms.

  • Prepare regular reports on the performance of field application engineers, customer interactions, and project outcomes for review by senior management.

  • Analyze data from customer interactions, sales activities, and market trends to inform strategic decision-making and identify areas for improvement.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to field application engineering, sales, and customer satisfaction, using this information to drive continuous improvement.
