Responsibilities Overview

As a Field Service Engineer in the North East region, you will play a vital role in ensuring our clients receive exceptional service and support for their complex technological systems. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Installation and Commissioning: Implement and set up new equipment, software, and systems at client sites according to company standards and procedures. Ensure that all installations are tested and functioning correctly before leaving the site.

  • Preventative Maintenance: Carry out regular scheduled maintenance checks on installed equipment and systems to ensure they are running optimally and prevent potential issues or downtime.

  • Repair and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify any technical issues that may arise with our products at the client site. This includes fault finding, repair, replacement of parts, and providing appropriate solutions to maintain system performance.

  • Client Support and Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for our clients in your region, ensuring excellent communication and building strong relationships. Provide technical guidance and support to help them achieve their goals with our products.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all site visits, work carried out, and any issues encountered. Prepare detailed reports for management, including recommendations for future improvements or preventative measures.

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field service engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial automation sector

  • Proven ability to perform routine maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and mechanical equipment

  • In-depth knowledge of electronic control systems, PLCs, SCADA systems, and related software

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards (OSHA, NFPA, etc.) and the ability to adhere to them during all service tasks

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical personnel effectively

  • Valid driver's license and the ability to travel as required (up to 50% of the time)

  • Proficiency in using standard engineering tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power tools

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple service calls efficiently and effectively

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality standards

  • Familiarity with specific industrial automation products (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell Automation)

  • Experience working with robotics or advanced manufacturing technologies is a plus

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and related components

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics effectively

  • Proficiency in using computer software for service documentation and reporting purposes (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ServiceNow, etc.)
