Groundworker | Job in Suffolk

Location: East of England

As a Groundworker in our team based in the East of England, you will be an integral part of our construction and development projects. We are seeking a dedicated, experienced professional who can work effectively both independently and as part of a team to ensure project success.

• Prepare and maintain the site for construction activities, including clearing the area, laying foundations, and grading surfaces.

• Operate and maintain groundworking machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, and dump trucks.

• Follow blueprints to mark out work areas, dig trenches, set forms for poured concrete, and build roads, water mains, sewers, or foundations as required.

• Work collaboratively with other tradespeople to ensure the timely completion of tasks.

• Conduct routine checks on machinery to ensure safety and efficiency.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.

• Collaborate with supervisors to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during construction activities.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or project manager.

• Proven experience as a Groundworker, preferably in the East of England construction industry.

• Knowledge of construction methods, equipment, and safety protocols.

• Proficiency in operating groundworking machinery.

• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively.

• Strong physical fitness and stamina, as this role requires lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.

• Able to work flexible hours, including overtime as required by project demands.

• Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude.

• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and the ability to adhere to them strictly.

• Willingness to travel within the East of England region as necessary.
