About the Role:

We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our dynamic team based in the South East. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods from our depot to various destinations across the region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to all road traffic laws, regulations, and company policies during the course of your driving duties.
  • Completing delivery and collection tasks in a timely and safe manner, ensuring goods are handled with care and properly secured.
  • Carrying out pre-journey vehicle checks daily, including fuel levels, oil, lights, tyres, brakes, and other essential components to ensure the safety of the vehicle.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for each journey, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery/collection times, and any issues encountered on the road.
  • Collaborating with the transport office to resolve any operational issues that may arise during your working day.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations at all times, taking appropriate action in the event of an accident or emergency.
  • Demonstrating a proactive approach to maintaining the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle, reporting any necessary maintenance requirements promptly.

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV Class 2 UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
  • Digital Tachograph Card (Driver Qualification Card) and CPC certification.
  • Proven experience as an HGV Class 2 driver, preferably within the logistics or transport industry.
  • Excellent understanding of road traffic laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and public holidays when required.
  • A positive attitude and a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and teamwork.
