IMDS Coordinator | Job in Denbighshire
As an IMDS (International Material Data System) Coordinator, your role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with global chemical regulations and maintaining the integrity of our company's product data. Here are some of the key responsibilities you will be expected to carry out on a daily basis:
- *Data Management:
- You will be responsible for managing and updating IMDS data for assigned products. This includes collecting, verifying, and entering accurate and up-to-date chemical information.
- *Regulatory Compliance:
- You will need to stay abreast of global chemical regulations, particularly REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice). Ensuring our products comply with these regulations is a crucial part of your role.
- *Communication:
- Effective communication with various departments (R&D, Manufacturing, QA/QC, Sales, etc.) and external parties (suppliers, customers, regulatory bodies) is essential. You will need to gather information, provide updates, and facilitate the submission of IMDS dossiers when required.
- *Documentation:
- Maintaining detailed and organized records is a key part of this role. This includes documenting all changes made to IMDS data, tracking the status of submissions, and preparing reports as needed.
- *Collaboration:
- Working closely with other departments and team members within the company, as well as external parties such as SDS authors and consultants, is necessary for the successful completion of tasks.
- *Training and Development:
- Continuously developing your knowledge of global chemical regulations and IMDS requirements is important. You may also be required to provide training to other team members on IMDS-related topics.
- *Quality Assurance:
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of IMDS data is a key responsibility. This involves regular audits and reviews of data to identify any potential issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- *Problem Solving:
- In the event of data discrepancies or regulatory changes, you will be expected to work proactively to resolve these issues in a timely manner, minimizing impact on product supply and ensuring compliance at all times.
Required Skills
Knowledge and Understanding:
- In-depth knowledge of the International Material Data System (IMDS) and its regulations.
- Comprehensive understanding of the automotive industry, particularly OEM requirements and standards.
- Proficiency in data management systems and databases.
Technical Skills:
- Ability to analyze and interpret complex material data.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with IMDS software platforms such as ACDi, PTC MathModeler, or similar.
