  • Implement and manage security measures to safeguard our network against potential threats

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Network Administrator, or similar role

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and IT infrastructure management

  • Familiarity with network design principles, server virtualization, cloud computing, and wireless networking

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical colleagues

  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and Agile methodologies is a plus

As an Infrastructure Engineer based in Yorkshire and The Humber, your primary role will be to design, build, and maintain the technical infrastructure of our organization, ensuring maximum reliability, scalability, and security.

  • Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Develop comprehensive plans for the construction, improvement, and expansion of our IT infrastructure. This includes servers, storage systems, network architecture, and virtualization solutions.

  • Systems Maintenance and Upgrades: Monitor and maintain the performance of our existing IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal operation at all times. Regularly update software and hardware to maintain security and efficiency.

  • Network Management: Oversee the setup and maintenance of our local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN). This includes troubleshooting network problems, implementing security measures, and monitoring network traffic.

  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime in the event of system failures or disasters. Regularly test these plans to ensure they are effective.

  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect our infrastructure from potential threats. This includes firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security software.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team and other departments to understand their needs and ensure that the infrastructure meets these requirements. Provide technical guidance and support as needed.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of all infrastructure components, changes made, and any issues encountered. This will serve as a reference for future maintenance or troubleshooting tasks.
