• Collaborating with teachers to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students

Required Skills

• Education: A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent qualifications) at grades 9-4 (A*-C), including English Language and Mathematics is required. A relevant Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, or willingness to achieve this qualification, would be advantageous.

• Experience: Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or similar role within an educational setting is highly desirable.

• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with students, teachers, parents, and other school staff.

• Patience and Empathy: The ability to demonstrate patience and empathy towards students who may be facing learning difficulties or challenges is crucial.

• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are necessary for managing tasks related to supporting the learning process, including preparation of materials and adherence to timetables.

• Problem-Solving Abilities: The capacity to think creatively and solve problems is important when dealing with a variety of educational challenges that may arise.

• Teamwork: The willingness to work as part of a team, collaborating effectively with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the best possible learning environment for students.

• Understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN): A basic understanding of SEN is beneficial, as you may be working with students who have specific educational needs or disabilities. Familiarity with various strategies and techniques used to support these students would be an asset.
