Position Overview: Mental Health Nurse
Location: East Midlands, United Kingdom

- Administer medication as prescribed by doctors, monitor their effectiveness, and manage potential side effects.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to patient assessments, interventions, and progress.
- Foster a supportive and therapeutic environment for patients, promoting recovery and well-being.
- Offer emotional support, counseling, and guidance to patients and their families.
- Participate in ongoing staff training and development, staying abreast of the latest mental health nursing best practices and treatment options.
- Contribute to the overall operation of the mental health facility, including attending team meetings, participating in quality improvement initiatives, and supporting service users in daily activities.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin number.
- Proven experience working within mental health nursing, preferably within an inpatient setting.
- Strong understanding of mental health disorders, their symptoms, and appropriate treatments.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, as part of a 24/7 rota system.
- Commitment to delivering person-centered care, prioritizing the dignity, independence, and rights of service users at all times.
- Respect for confidentiality and ability to maintain professional boundaries.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing learning and development, ensuring that practice remains up-to-date and evidence-based.
