We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Mobility/HR Specialist with a proficient level of Japanese language skills to join our team in the North West region. This role will be integral to our expanding operations in Japan, ensuring seamless mobility solutions for our clients and employees.
Provide expert advice on Japanese labor law and regulations to ensure compliance across all HR functions.
Support the management of employee relocations from Japan to the UK, including visa application processes, housing assistance, and cultural orientation.
Liaise with our Japan office to coordinate HR initiatives and policies.
Collaborate with global mobility teams on cross-border assignments and international employment matters.
Manage and maintain employee records related to Japanese operations, ensuring data privacy and confidentiality.
Serve as a bridge between the UK and Japan offices, fostering strong relationships and effective communication.
Assist in the recruitment process for Japanese candidates, including coordinating interviews, conducting screening, and facilitating onboarding.
Contribute to the development of HR policies and procedures that support our company's growth in Japan.
Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in global mobility and HR, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR or Mobility roles, preferably within the automotive or technology sectors.
Proficiency in Japanese (native or near-native level) and English is essential.
Strong knowledge of Japanese labor law and regulations.
Experience managing international employee relocations and cross-border assignments.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Routine Tasks
In this role as a Mobility/HR Specialist with a strong proficiency in Japanese, you will be expected to perform the following routine tasks:
Cross-Cultural Support: Provide guidance and support to employees relocating to or from Japan, ensuring a smooth transition by addressing cultural differences and managing expectations.
Mobility Management: Manage the mobility process for all assignments to and from Japan, including coordinating logistics such as visas, housing, and schooling.
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with both company policies and local laws regarding employee relocations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant regulations in Japan.
Onboarding and Offboarding: Oversee the onboarding process for new hires joining our organization from Japan, and handle offboarding procedures efficiently and compassionately for employees leaving or retiring.
Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for Japanese-speaking employees, addressing their concerns and providing them with necessary support.
Data Management: Maintain accurate records related to employee mobility, including visa status, relocation expenses, and other relevant data, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
Training and Development: Collaborate with the HR team to develop and deliver training programs for employees involved in international assignments or working with Japanese counterparts, promoting cultural sensitivity and professional growth.
Project Management: Lead cross-functional projects related to mobility and HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate with various stakeholders including employees, managers, and other departments about mobility-related matters, ensuring transparency and effective collaboration.
Reporting: Generate reports on key performance indicators related to mobility, identifying trends and areas for improvement, and presenting recommendations to senior management.
