Network Engineer (SC Cleared) | Job in West Yorkshire

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer with SC clearance to join our team in Yorkshire and the Humber. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructure to ensure the seamless operation of our critical systems.

• Design, implement, and manage network solutions that align with business requirements and IT best practices.

• Troubleshoot network issues proactively and efficiently to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network infrastructure with other IT systems.

• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary changes to maintain efficiency and scalability.

• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents.

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as patch management, software updates, and security audits.

• Adhere to IT policies, procedures, and standards, and contribute to their continuous improvement.

• Keep abreast of technological advancements and industry trends related to network engineering.

• Provide technical support to end-users when needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned by the management team.

• Proven experience as a Network Engineer in a similar role, preferably within the public sector or a security-sensitive industry.

• SC clearance is essential.

• Strong knowledge of network design principles, LAN/WAN architectures, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, etc.).

• Proficiency in network management tools such as SNMP, NetFlow, and Wireshark.

• Familiarity with security technologies like firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or comparable ones are desirable.
