Plant Operator/ Labourer | Job in Northumberland

*Qualifications and Skills *

*Education: *

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Some employers may prefer candidates with vocational training in a related field.

*Experience: *

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Plant Operator/Labourer, preferably in the North East region, working in a manufacturing, construction, mining, or similar industrial setting.
• Candidates with experience in operating heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, front-end loaders, forklifts, and cranes will be preferred.

*Skills: *

Operational Skills:

• Ability to safely and effectively operate various types of machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance procedures and the ability to perform routine checks on machinery.
• Skill in loading, unloading, and moving materials using industrial trucks, cranes, or other equipment.

Physical Abilities:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. occasionally.
• Capacity to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
• Stamina for standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.

Safety Awareness:

• Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and practices diligently.
• Capacity to respond quickly in emergency situations.

Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal communication skills for working effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Basic written communication skills for completing necessary reports and documentation.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and make adjustments as needed.
