Quantitative Trading Analyst | Job in Staffordshire

*Routine Tasks: Quantitative Trading Analyst *

In this role as a Quantitative Trading Analyst within our dynamic and innovative team based in the West Midlands, you will be expected to perform the following routine tasks:

  • Data Analysis: You will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large sets of financial data to uncover trends, patterns, and trading opportunities. This may include stock prices, economic indicators, news feeds, and other relevant market data.

  • Model Development and Backtesting: Developing quantitative models is a key part of this role. You will create, test, and refine mathematical models for predicting the behavior of financial instruments, using statistical analysis, econometric modeling, and machine learning techniques. Once developed, you will backtest these models to evaluate their effectiveness and robustness under various market conditions.

  • Risk Management: Monitor the risk exposure of our trading strategies by continuously assessing and managing potential risks associated with each strategy. This includes value-at-risk (VaR) calculations, stress testing, and other quantitative risk management techniques.

  • Algorithmic Trading Implementation: Work closely with our development team to implement your quantitative models into automated trading systems. This may involve coding in languages such as Python or R, and working with APIs from various exchanges and data providers.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Regularly monitor the performance of our trading strategies, identify any deviations from expected results, and report these findings to senior management. This may include creating regular reports, dashboards, or presentations.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other quantitative analysts, traders, and senior management to share ideas, insights, and improve our trading strategies. You will also stay abreast of the latest developments in quantitative finance, economics, and technology to ensure our trading strategies remain competitive and innovative.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all trading activities are conducted within regulatory guidelines and best practices. This includes understanding and implementing relevant rules and regulations, as well as maintaining accurate records and documentation for auditing purposes.
