Developing and implementing effective cost management strategies for large-scale construction projects.
Forecasting costs, creating budgets, and tracking expenditures to ensure projects remain financially viable.
Collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to identify potential cost issues early in the project lifecycle.
Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and prices.
Analyzing project performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
Preparing comprehensive reports detailing project costs, variances, and recommendations for action.
Liaising with senior management to discuss project financial status, issues, and potential solutions.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB) are highly desirable.
Proven experience as a Cost Manager or similar role within the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale projects.
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement strategies, and cost management principles.
Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw accurate conclusions.
Exceptional negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
