Senior Energy Engineer | Job in Cumbria

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Energy Engineer to join our team at our North West location. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the design, implementation, and optimization of energy systems for our projects.

  • Lead energy audits, assessments, and studies for new and existing facilities.

  • Develop, implement, and manage energy efficiency projects throughout their lifecycle.

  • Design and specify energy conservation measures and renewable energy technologies.

  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, and prepare business cases for energy projects.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams and stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate energy considerations into the overall project design.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in energy engineering.

  • Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures related to energy management.

  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation for various audiences, including clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to their professional development.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. An advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) is preferred but not required.

  • Proven experience as a Senior Energy Engineer or similar role within the energy industry.

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly desired.

  • Proficiency in energy modeling software, such as eQuest, EnergyPlus, and TRNSYS.

  • Strong knowledge of building systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong project management skills, with experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal energy regulations and incentives is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel as needed (approximately 25% of the time).
