  • Proven experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably within a hospital environment.

Job Role

In this pivotal role as a Senior Healthcare Assistant in our healthcare facility located in Peterborough, Wales, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients while working collaboratively with the wider clinical team.

  • Provide compassionate and person-centred care to patients, ensuring that their emotional, physical, and social needs are met in line with our facility's policies and procedures.

  • Support the registered nurses and other healthcare professionals by undertaking a range of clinical tasks such as administering medication, taking observations, and providing personal care.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring that they are regularly reviewed and updated to meet each patient's evolving needs.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including documentation of treatments, assessments, and observations in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

  • Assist in the training and development of junior healthcare assistants and students, helping to foster a positive and supportive learning environment.

  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the ongoing improvement of our facility's care services through active engagement and collaboration.

  • Ensure that the healthcare environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for patients, visitors, and colleagues alike.

  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations, promoting a culture of compliance and accountability within the team.

  • A recognized qualification in Healthcare Support Work or similar (Level 2 or Level 3) and a willingness to progress towards a higher-level qualification if not already achieved.

  • Proven experience working as a healthcare assistant in a relevant healthcare setting, with at least two years' experience in a senior role preferred.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, their families, and colleagues.

  • A strong commitment to providing high-quality care and upholding the values of empathy, respect, dignity, and compassion in all interactions.

  • A flexible approach to work, including a willingness to work shifts, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
