Role Overview

In this exciting and challenging role as a Senior Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician based in the South West, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our industrial equipment and systems. This position offers an exceptional opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced individual to contribute significantly to our company's operational efficiency and productivity.

*Responsibilities: *

  • Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs and procedures to maximize the service life of machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment problems, and perform necessary repairs or arrange for outside contractors to complete such work.
  • Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to identify areas for improvement in our maintenance processes.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to analyze machine performance data, identify patterns and trends, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including documentation of repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks performed.
  • Work closely with various departments to ensure that production targets are met, while also promoting a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the organization.

*Qualifications: *

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician or equivalent role in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Proven knowledge of maintenance principles, practices, and procedures.
  • In-depth understanding of industrial equipment, machinery, and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other maintenance software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
  • A strong commitment to workplace health and safety, with a demonstrated ability to adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
  • A relevant vocational or degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field is highly desirable.
