Senior/ Transport Planner | Job in Stirling

*Responsibilities: *

  • Leading the development of comprehensive transport strategies for Stirling and surrounding areas, ensuring a balanced, sustainable, and integrated approach to mobility.
  • Collaborating with local authorities, private sector partners, and community stakeholders on key transportation projects that align with the city's vision for future growth.
  • Conducting technical studies, assessments, and analyses related to traffic flow, public transportation systems, active transportation (cycling, walking), and intelligent transport systems.
  • Overseeing the implementation of innovative transportation solutions that improve safety, reduce congestion, promote sustainability, and enhance quality of life for Stirling's residents and visitors.
  • Guiding junior team members in their professional development, sharing your expertise in transport planning best practices, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to ensure our strategies remain current and effective.
  • Preparing and presenting reports, findings, and recommendations to various stakeholders, including elected officials, community groups, and the general public.
  • Representing the organization at regional and national transportation conferences, forums, and workshops to share knowledge and learn from peers in the industry.

*Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or a related field, with an advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Transport Planner or similar role within a municipal government, transportation authority, consulting firm, or other relevant organization.
  • Strong understanding of urban transport systems, multi-modal planning, and intelligent transport systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to work effectively in a team setting and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in transportation modeling software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • A passion for improving transportation systems and making cities more livable, sustainable, and equitable.
