The South West region is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Engineering Manager to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our engineering department during assigned shifts, delivering high-quality products, and maintaining optimal plant efficiency.
*Key Responsibilities: *
- Overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department during the designated shift, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Developing and implementing engineering solutions to improve plant performance, efficiency, and productivity.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address operational issues and find effective resolutions in a timely manner.
- Ensuring maintenance activities are performed efficiently and effectively, scheduling repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Managing the engineering team during the shift, providing guidance, training, and support for their professional development.
- Conducting routine checks on equipment and machinery to identify potential problems and implementing corrective measures proactively.
- Coordinating with other Shift Engineering Managers to ensure consistent practices across shifts.
- Participating in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing ideas and innovations to enhance the efficiency of our operations.
- Liaising with the Operations Manager and other senior leadership as needed to communicate engineering-related issues and progress.

- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and standards, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff members
- Experience in project management, including budgeting, resource allocation, and risk assessment
- Flexibility to work during shifts, as required by the manufacturing process, and availability to handle on-call duties outside of regular working hours if needed.
- Knowledge or experience with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Ability to travel within the South West region and occasionally to other locations for meetings or inspections, when necessary.
