Sister / Charge Nurse | Job in Cheshire
In the role of Sister/Charge Nurse for Ward T7 Trauma & Orthopaedics, you will be responsible for leading and managing a dedicated team of nurses to provide high-quality patient care in a trauma and orthopaedic setting. This role requires an individual who is a seasoned professional with strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to the values of compassion, respect, and excellence.
Patient Care: Ensure that all patients receive individualized, high-quality care according to their specific needs and conditions. This includes administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and providing wound care as required.
Clinical Leadership: Act as a clinical leader for the ward team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to nurses and other healthcare professionals.
Education and Training: Develop and implement educational programs to maintain and improve the knowledge and skills of the ward staff.
Quality Improvement: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to identify opportunities for quality improvement, and implement evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in patient care and take proactive steps to mitigate those risks, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff alike.
Documentation: Accurately document all aspects of patient care, adhering to established policies and procedures.
Policy Compliance: Ensure that all nursing practices comply with relevant local, national, and international guidelines, standards, and regulations.
Staff Management: Lead, motivate, and develop the ward team, fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
Resource Allocation: Manage and allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal patient care and staff productivity.
Budgeting: Collaborate with finance departments to develop and manage budgets for the ward.
Performance Evaluation: Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and opportunities for growth.
Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance activities, ensuring that patient care meets or exceeds expected standards.
Staff Education: Organize and coordinate educational programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the ward staff.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., surgery, radiology, pharmacy) to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the ward is compliant with all relevant local, national, and international regulations regarding patient care and staff management.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency plans for the ward, ensuring that staff are trained in emergency procedures and the ward is prepared to respond effectively to emergencies.
