Support Worker | Job in Cornwall

*Key Responsibilities - Support Worker *

  • Provide high-quality care and support to individuals with various disabilities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

  • Assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and medication administration.

  • Facilitate social inclusion by encouraging participation in community activities, educational programs, and recreational events.

  • Collaborate with the care team to develop, implement, and review individualized support plans for each service user.

  • Maintain accurate records and reports of activities, observations, and any changes in the health or behavior of the service users.

  • Promote independence by encouraging and supporting self-care skills and daily living tasks.

  • Respond effectively to emergencies and follow established procedures during critical incidents.

  • Contribute to a positive working environment by demonstrating respect, empathy, and professionalism towards colleagues, service users, and their families.

  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals involved in the care of service users to ensure coordinated and comprehensive support.

  • Ensure that the service user's rights are respected and promote choices, empowerment, and dignity at all times.

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills related to supporting individuals with disabilities.

  • Contribute to a safe working environment by following health and safety policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to relevant legislation and regulations.

  • Ensure that the service user's living spaces are clean, comfortable, and well-maintained at all times.

  • Act as a keyworker for assigned service users, providing ongoing support, guidance, and emotional care.

  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure effective communication about the service user's needs and progress.
