As a Systems Support Engineer at our South East location, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the performance of our organization's IT infrastructure. Here is a breakdown of your primary job responsibilities:
System Administration: Oversee and manage various systems and software applications to ensure optimal performance. This includes server setup, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and updates.
Network Support: Assist in the installation, configuration, and management of network components such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. You will also monitor network performance to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
End-User Support: Provide technical support to end-users across various departments. This includes troubleshooting software and hardware issues, managing helpdesk tickets, and offering guidance on best practices for IT usage.
Security Management: Collaborate with the Security team to maintain the security of our systems and data. This includes implementing and enforcing security policies, conducting regular audits, and responding to any security incidents or threats.
Backup and Disaster Recovery: Ensure the integrity and availability of our data by managing backup procedures and disaster recovery plans. You will also be responsible for testing these procedures regularly.
Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members, as well as cross-functional teams across the organization, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of IT initiatives with business objectives.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in technology to continuously improve our systems and provide the best possible support to the organization. This includes attending relevant training courses, reading industry publications, and participating in professional development activities.
Project Work: Assist in the implementation of new IT projects, from planning through deployment, to ensure a smooth transition for end-users. You will also be responsible for documenting project work for future reference.
Compliance: Ensure that our IT systems adhere to relevant regulations and standards. This includes regular compliance audits and working with the Compliance team to address any issues or gaps.
Budget Management: Collaborate with the IT Management team in the creation and management of the IT budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and optimal return on investment.

- Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees such as a Master's or Ph.D. may be considered as an advantage.

- Strong proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems
- Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
