In this role, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging and effective lessons within the Food Technology and Design & Technology departments. You will inspire students to develop a passion for these subjects, fostering their creativity, problem-solving skills, and practical abilities.

To qualify for this position, you should possess:

• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
• A degree in Food Technology, Design & Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience teaching Food Technology and/or Design & Technology at secondary level.
• A strong understanding of current curriculum requirements, including the National Curriculum for Wales.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to motivate and engage students.
• A commitment to inclusion and a passion for working collaboratively as part of a team.
• An up-to-date knowledge of best practices in teaching Food Technology and Design & Technology.
• Familiarity with current ICT tools and their application within the classroom setting.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and dynamic individual to join our team at Bridgewater High School as a Teacher of Food Technology and/or Design and Technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and inspiring our students in these subjects, fostering their creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills.

*Qualifications: *

• A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent) with a specialism in either Food Technology and/or Design and Technology
• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or the ability to obtain it is essential
• A relevant undergraduate degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Design, Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience teaching Food Technology and/or Design and Technology at secondary level
• Knowledge of current curriculum trends and exam specifications (GCSE and A Level)
• Experience with using technology in the classroom is desirable
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for Food Technology and/or Design and Technology and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential

*Responsibilities: *

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the needs of all students
• Mark work accurately and provide constructive feedback to support student progress
• Contribute to the development and revision of the Food Technology and/or Design and Technology curriculum
• Collaborate with other teachers and departments to create cross-curricular projects
• Participate in school events, parent evenings, and open days as required
• Actively contribute to the school's ethos of inclusivity and diversity
