Waking Night Support Worker | Job in County Durham

In this role as a Waking Night Support Worker based in the North East region, you will be an integral part of our team dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to individuals with learning disabilities or mental health needs. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • *Planning and Documentation:
  • Contribute to the development of individual support plans, ensuring they are tailored to meet the unique needs, goals, and aspirations of each service user. Document all care provided accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of both service users and colleagues at all times by adhering to relevant policies, guidelines, and regulations. Report any concerns or issues promptly to management.

Daily Responsibilities

As a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker in the North East region, your primary role is to ensure the safety, well-being, and quality of life for our service users during the night shift. Here are some key responsibilities you'll undertake:

  • *Caring for Service Users:
  • Provide emotional support, assistance with personal care, and ensure the overall comfort and well-being of the service users throughout the night. This may include helping with meals, medication administration, and other daily living tasks as needed.
  • *Safeguarding:
  • Ensure the safety and security of all service users at all times. Implement necessary safety measures and respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies that may arise during your shift.
  • *Maintaining a Clean Environment:
  • Collaborate with the team to maintain a clean, tidy, and safe living environment for our service users. This includes cleaning tasks, laundry duties, and waste disposal responsibilities.
  • *Recording and Reporting:
  • Accurately record incidents, observations, and daily activities related to the service user's care in their individual care plans. Report any concerns or issues to the designated supervisor in a timely manner.
  • *Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Work effectively as part of the night shift team, demonstrating excellent communication skills and collaborative spirit. This includes supporting your colleagues during busy periods and participating in team meetings when required.
