Management Accountant | Job in Bristol

In the vibrant and dynamic environment of our team in the South West region we are seeking a dedicated and proficient Management Accountant to join us. *Responsibilities: *

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to determine trends and exceptional items, including budget variances analysis.
  • Support the Financial Controller in preparing consolidated financial statements for external reporting.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions, account reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Manage fixed assets register, prepare depreciation schedules, and oversee asset disposals and impairments.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns, liaising with external auditors as necessary.
  • Provide financial analysis to support business decisions, including cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the wider Finance team to improve financial controls, systems, and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, policies, and legal requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across various departments and external partners.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects as required by the organisation.

*Requirements: *

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with a professional accounting qualification (ACA, CIMA, or ACCA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a Management Accountant role within a similar organization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data and make informed recommendations.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite with a preference for experience using cloud-based solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidentiality in all aspects of the role.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, as well as independently when necessary.
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the South West region as required.
