Job Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) to join our dynamic team in the West Midlands. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical appliances used within the organization comply with current health and safety regulations, contributing to a safer and more efficient workplace.

• Conduct regular Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on electrical equipment as per the schedule.
• Identify and report any defects found during testing and recommend appropriate actions for their repair or replacement.
• Maintain accurate records of all tests conducted, including test results and actions taken.
• Liaise with maintenance staff to ensure that any necessary repairs are carried out promptly.
• Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs to minimize future electrical equipment failures.
• Keep up-to-date with changes in relevant health and safety regulations, best practices, and testing procedures.
• Provide training and guidance to other staff members on safe use and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Participate in regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Proven experience as a Portable Appliance Tester (PAT) or similar role.
• In-depth understanding of the current health and safety regulations related to electrical equipment testing.
• Strong knowledge of test equipment and testing procedures for electrical appliances.
• Excellent record-keeping skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Flexibility to accommodate changes in the testing schedule as required.
• A valid certificate for Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) is essential.
