In this pivotal role as a Project Quantity Surveyor within our team in the East of England region, you will be responsible for the following:

*Cost Management: *

Oversee and manage project costs throughout all stages of construction. This includes estimating costs for materials, labor, equipment rental, and other resources necessary to complete projects on time and within budget.

  • *Contract Administration:

Administer contracts effectively, ensuring compliance with contractual terms, conditions, and deadlines. Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve any contractual issues that may arise.

  • *Quantity Surveying:

Undertake take-off and measurement of quantities of materials required for construction projects using various methods such as manual calculations, digital software, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) models.

  • *Cost Control:

Monitor project budgets to ensure they are being adhered to. Implement cost control measures where necessary to keep the project within budget.

  • *Risk Management:

Identify potential risks and devise strategies to mitigate them. This may involve analyzing contract documents, site conditions, and construction schedules for potential risks that could impact project costs or completion dates.

  • *Professional Development:

Stay updated with the latest industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes in quantity surveying and construction. Contribute to the professional development of junior team members by mentoring and sharing your knowledge.

  • *Collaboration:

Work closely with other project teams, including architects, engineers, and site managers. Provide timely and accurate cost advice and guidance to enable effective decision-making.

  • *Reporting:

Prepare regular reports on project costs, budget status, contractual issues, and any other relevant information for senior management and clients. This includes producing detailed final accounts upon project completion.

  • *Business Development:

Contribute to business development initiatives by providing input on cost estimates for new projects, participating in pitches, and developing strong client relationships.

  • *Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

Adhere to all HSE regulations and promote a culture of safety within the team. Encourage best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment for everyone involved in the project.
