• Preparing and analyzing cost estimates for building and civil engineering projects.
• Negotiating contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Monitoring project costs throughout construction to ensure they remain within budget.
• Coordinating with the project team to address any cost-related issues that may arise during construction.
• Preparing cost reports and other documentation for senior management and clients.
• Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, including adherence to relevant legislation and regulations.
• Liaising with external stakeholders such as architects, engineers, and legal advisors. To excel in this role, you will need a bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, along with substantial experience in the construction industry. You should also be a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and have excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills. *Key Responsibilities: *

• Preparing accurate estimates for building or civil engineering projects, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
• Negotiating contracts and change orders with clients and subcontractors to ensure project profitability.
• Managing project budgets, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring that financial targets are met.
• Providing cost-effective solutions to project challenges while adhering to quality and safety standards.
• Liaising with the project team, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Conducting periodic cost analyses to identify areas for improvement in future projects.
• Preparing comprehensive cost reports for senior management and clients.
• Compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

*Qualifications: *

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Proficiency in using quantity surveying software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Membership of a professional body such as RICS, CIOB, or similar is desirable but not essential.
