Senior HSE Manager, HSE EMEA | Job in Rutland

*Overview: *

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our HSE team in the East Midlands region. This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with HSE regulations across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

*Key Responsibilities: *

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE policies, programs, and standards for the EMEA region.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to integrate HSE into business operations and continuously improve safety performance.
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Stay abreast of legislative changes related to HSE within the EMEA region and ensure timely compliance.
  • Facilitate HSE training programs for employees at all levels and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Act as a key point of contact for HSE matters with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and insurance companies.
  • Drive continuous improvement in our organization's sustainability performance and promote a culture of environmental responsibility.

*Qualifications: *

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field. Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) is desirable.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in a HSE management role within a multinational organization. Experience in the EMEA region is preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing HSE strategies that reduce risk, improve safety performance, and promote sustainability.
  • Extensive knowledge of regional HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and build relationships at all levels within the organization and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a demonstrated ability to motivate teams to achieve HSE objectives.
  • Strategic thinker who can effectively balance operational requirements with HSE considerations.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
  • Ability to travel within the EMEA region as required.

*About the Role *

As the Senior HSE Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading, managing, and continuously improving our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across the EMEA region. You will collaborate closely with regional leadership, functional teams, and site-level management to ensure compliance with local regulations, industry best practices, and our global HSE policies and standards.

*Key Responsibilities *

  • Lead, develop, and implement regional HSE strategies that align with the organization's overall vision and values.
  • Provide expert advice on HSE matters to senior leadership and functional teams across the region.
  • Conduct regular site audits and inspections to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to address identified risks, ensuring timely resolution and continuous monitoring.
  • Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within our organization by promoting awareness programs, training, and communication initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and suppliers, to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance by setting ambitious targets, measuring progress, and reporting results to regional leadership.

*Qualifications *

  • A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is required. Advanced qualifications (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, MSc in Environmental Management) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HSE management with at least 5 years in a senior role within a multinational organization.
  • Proven track record in leading and managing HSE functions across multiple sites in a regional capacity.
  • Strong understanding of local and global HSE regulations and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving shared goals.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational management.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to inform decision making and drive continuous improvement.
