  • *Professional Qualifications:

A registered member of the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) with a BSc (Hons) Podiatry or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. Postgraduate training and additional qualifications in areas such as diabetes, biomechanics, or surgery are highly desirable.

  • *Clinical Expertise:

Extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of foot conditions. Proficiency in minor surgical procedures, diagnostic imaging, and prescription of orthotics is essential.

A strong focus on providing patient-centered care with excellent communication skills to explain complex medical information clearly and compassionately. Ability to build rapport quickly and establish trust with patients from diverse backgrounds.

Day-to-Day Tasks

As a Specialist Podiatrist in our team, your day-to-day tasks will be centered around providing exceptional podiatric care to our diverse patient base. Here's an overview of the responsibilities you can expect:

*Clinical Assessments and Treatments: *

Conduct thorough clinical assessments on patients with various foot conditions. Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each individual's needs, using a range of podiatric interventions.

  • *Patient Consultations:

Engage in compassionate and informative consultations with patients, explaining their conditions, proposed treatments, and aftercare instructions clearly and effectively.

  • *Diagnostic Imaging:

Utilize diagnostic imaging tools such as X-rays, ultrasound, or MRI to help diagnose complex foot conditions when necessary.

  • *Prescription of Orthotics:

Prescribe custom orthotic devices to correct biomechanical abnormalities and alleviate discomfort for patients with foot problems.

  • *Wound Care Management:

Manage and treat wounds, such as diabetic ulcers, using evidence-based practices and techniques. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed.

  • *Prevention and Education:

Provide education to patients on foot health, preventative measures, and lifestyle modifications to maintain overall wellbeing.

  • *Continuing Professional Development:

Maintain your professional competence by regularly attending relevant training courses, seminars, and conferences to stay updated with the latest podiatric research and developments.

  • *Collaboration:

Work closely with other healthcare professionals within our organization, as well as external agencies, to ensure holistic patient care and coordination.

Primary Duties

In this role as a Specialist Podiatrist within our dedicated healthcare organization, you will be at the forefront of delivering exceptional podiatry services to our diverse clientele in London and its surrounding areas. Your primary responsibilities will include:

*Assessment and Diagnosis: *

Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of a wide range of podiatric conditions affecting patients of all ages, including but not limited to nail disorders, corns, calluses, verrucae, foot deformities, and sports-related injuries.

  • *Treatment Planning and Implementation:

Develop individualized treatment plans based on your findings, incorporating evidence-based strategies and the latest advancements in podiatric care. Implement these plans effectively to promote optimal patient recovery and wellbeing.

  • *Patient Education:

Provide clear, concise, and easy-to-understand explanations of patients' conditions, treatment options, and self-care instructions to empower them to manage their foot health independently.

  • *Clinical Procedures:

Perform various podiatric procedures such as nail surgery, prescription of orthotics, wound care, and biomechanical assessments. Ensure these procedures are carried out safely and effectively with minimal discomfort for the patient.

  • *Collaboration:

Work closely with other healthcare professionals within our multidisciplinary team, including general practitioners, physiotherapists, and consultants, to ensure holistic care for our patients.

  • *Continuing Professional Development:

Pursue continuous professional development by staying up-to-date with the latest research, attending relevant conferences, and participating in training programs to maintain and improve your clinical skills.

  • *Compliance and Regulatory Requirements:

Adhere to all relevant regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards within podiatric care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each patient encounter, ensuring confidentiality and data protection at all times.
